Scholastic needed a transfixing digital experience for its “transmedia” multi-platform property, The 39 Clues—an educational adventure series aimed at kids aged 8-12 who are avid readers, gamers, or both. Scholastic had to successfully extend its storytelling reputation into the digital realm to appeal to kids who are as much into the Internet and video games as they are into reading books.

Schematic developed the architecture, design and technology infrastructure for site that will, through interactive storytelling and game play, eventually reveal 29 of the 39 clues. The website offers an exciting experience for users that expands the book narrative and seamlessly combines the various cross-platform elements at a single online destination.
