Web/TV convergence in a kid-friendly world of video
Putting kids first
Nickelodeon expected big things from TurboNick, their new broadband destination for kids: surprise, exploration, challenge, reward, and entertainment. The result? Childhood has a new hangout on the Web, and it was built by Schematic.
Redefining “sticky”
TurboNick brings Nickelodeon programming to broadband, creating a web destination for kids that’s exciting and sticky. . . . Literally! The site bounces off the screen with bright colors, squishy, gooey shapes, and the playful behavior that delights Nickelodeon’s fans. Above all, Schematic ensured that the site plays to and rewards a child’s love of discovery.
The 10-foot SpongeBob experience
This project demonstrates Schematic's ability to design for the two-foot (dot-com) and the ten-foot (Vista/MCE) experiences simultaneously. Technologically, we’re industry leaders in developing for MCE; but we’re also experts in helping companies plan and execute broadband experiences designed to be viewed on the TV screen.
Getting results
Since the fall of 2006, TurboNick 2.0 has generated a content stream increase of +911% (vs. 2005); it averages 236,000 unique visitors/day, a +489% increase over 2005.
